Something I struggle with is enjoying the Steampunk aesthetic, but also desiring to have a minimalist lifestyle. Bringing the two together isn’t easy, as part of the Steampunk idea is to make an item ornate and complex, favoring form over function. If you are going to do something, do it with style. Minimalism really is about function over form, taking the simple approach to the solution.

Over the next few weeks, I will be exploring this idea of “Steampunk Minimalism” in Fashion, Technology, & Home Décor; more or less defining the best I can what I believe “Steampunk Minimalism” is.
